Welcome to the website of The Friends of Hopewell Furnace NHS.  Hopewell Furnace, located in Union Township, Berks County on PA Route 345 is just south of French Creek State Park.  The NHS presents a restored iron plantation of the late 18th and early 19th century to show how early American industry helped found our nation and how the craft and labor workers lived.

The Friends support the NHS personnel and assist with park programs and pursue a mission of education on the early ironmaking enterprise.  Our website provides information on the activites of the Friends in support of the NHS and background on some specific areas of interest - see the menu above.

Information on the the park and events organized by the NHS are available at the park website.
